Im having some problems starting up the RB. It cranks and im pretty sure its getting gas, but no spark.

I still have to check the ignitor. But I was wondering if the ecu was supposed to be getting 12volts? also where is it going in?

My pinout shows a battery power line, I checked it and im getting next to nothing. (.36) I also checked the ignitor plug ( plug going into the ignitor chip), and when i try to start it the plugs i tested jumped to only around .3volts.

im gonna keep looking around. been checking the grounds and stuff too. any help would be great

oh, just to make sure. does the negative terminal off the battery connect to the chassis and then to the engine?

Thanks again

I don't have any first hand experiance with the RB motor yet but I can tell you that you need to have power to your ECU for it to work. All cars that I know of have a battery power and ignition power to the ECU. Also you need to make sure that your battery ground is going to the chassis and that you engine is grounded too. Most cars I have seen go the body first and then the Engine.

We I get home tonight I will look at the RB25 diagrams I have on my computer.

Check to make sure you have power to the injectors. Pull the CAS out and spin it and listen for the spark plugs and injectors opening. Unplug the fuel pump so you can hear them and not the fuel being cycled.

The cam angle sensor test fired the spark plugs for us when we installed Hybrid's motor (RB20 in S14), but the ecu was still not getting power. Check the two red wires running into the big white plug (F3 plug i think it is called).

There is red wire going toward the original KA ECU and one going somewhere else. The one not going toward the old ECU is the ECU power wire. I had hooked up the one going toward the old ECU (we were figuring this out on our own), which was why we were not getting any power to the ECU.

If you could post pictures of what you have, I might be able to help you more.

Hope it works!

We actually got it running. The IGN relay wasnt getting power. I think it was spot 2 not getting a switched 12v.

Thanks for the help everyone

Glad to hear it (as I'm sure you are literally). I said to let me know if you need help with the wipers on your other post. Nice to have another RB S body one step closer to being on the road.
