I have a Acer AX1700 and the power supply went out.

the power supply is a:

LiteON 220 Watt Power Supply PS-5221-06. LiteON Power Supply Total DC Output Power 220 Watt

INPUT: 100-127V ~/6A - 220V-240V ~/3A 50Hz-60Hz
OUTPUT: 250 Watt MAX - Main Connector 20Pin
Continuous: Total DC Output Power Shall Not Exceed 220W

+5V / 14A
+12V / 14A
+5VSB / 2A
+3.3 / 13A
-12V / 0.3A

Connectors:
2 - SATA
1 - 20pin Power
1 - 4pin Power

i've found em for around $100 on eBay. i'd like to know if there could be another one i can substitute that's a little cheaper. this is a small form case so i was thinking i may have to have the power supply outside of the computer if the substitute is bigger. But as long as it works i'll make it work.

would this one work: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... kwCjCECjCE

that one has extra connectors that i wont need, but the stats are pretty close.

any recommendations would be appreciated

I would be wary of any power supply that has a warranty printed as part of the brand logo. Especially when the manufacturer lists a different warranty. Its kind of like a guy who shouts how honest he is to every passerby. On the other hand, for the price you could buy 3 or 4 of those.

I have a PC Power & Cooling. (From before OCZ bought them) I say spend a little more up front and you get something that will last. The better power supplies tend to be quieter too.

i'm still looking around at different ones, but am i right in thinking any power supply will work as long as the stats are about right?

is the higher wattage supplies only for like gaming computers?
