After drifting with my car, I get a loud whine from the steering. It continues for about 5 minutes. The noise gradually goes away.

It doesn't take much to make this happen. It starts doing it after only two or three corners.

Is there something wrong with the pump, or is it some other issue? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

That's what I thought. It's just weird that it only does it after drifting and then it's fine. I guess there might be more pressure in the system when you turn quickly to full lock. I'll try replacing the lines if I can't figure out specifically why it's doing this.

a p/s whine can occur if 1) there a leak in the system 2) air some how got in the system, usually by a leak or not bleeding it properly. 3) the pump is takin a **** on you 4) system is overfilled

so check your fluid. make sure its at the proper lever. make sure your fluid doesnt look cloudy, if so it has air in it. if all thats checks out good, replace the pump
