Yeah, I did this when I first put the new pump in. I've read that people have whining with power steering fluid. That's what I'm using. Anyone had this issue and then have it go away when switching to ATF?zachattack_5491 wrote:Make sure that the reservoir is full. The pump running low on fluid is the only thing I know of that makes that kind of noise. Make sure your fluid isn't like syrup also.Fill it up to the top, turn it on, turn the wheel to full lock each way and hold there for about 5 seconds, then repeat until the fluid doesn't go down.Hope that helps.
ya just bleed it then go from there.....MTX450 wrote:

Yeah, it's definitely not a belt issue. Thanks for your response though!LiShaoLin wrote:Mine was "whining" for a bit this past month and my husband fixed it. It was the power steering belt coming loose. The nut on the front end of it kept on coming loose, so I had to go get a new belt because I think mine was stretching or something. Now with the new belt, it's all fixed! No more noise!
