it all interchanges the same.

the 240 line will be too long but if you loop it around to make it fit, works like a champ.

THE KA24E PUMP DOESN'T FIT (NOT POSSITIVE ON THE KA24DE). THE RB PUMP IS FINE JUST NEED TO ALTER SOME THINGS.

AS FAR AS THE A/C GOES I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS THIS WEEKEND (SOME PEOPLE KNOW FROM MY OTHER POST) AND HAVEN'T REALLY GOTTEN ANYTHING DONE. I STILL FEEL THAT THE RB PLUGS CAN BE SWAPPED ON THE KA HARNESS AND FOR THE HOES YOU JUST NEED THE RIGHT FITTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO NEED A FAN WITH A/C OVERRIDE TO KEEP THE CAR COOL.

if the RB pump is hicas, it will spew powersteering fluid all over the place. At least thats my experience. We plugged the rear hole and ran the front hole to the rack. The the pump shat the bed.

YOU NEED TO STOP THE PRESSURE BUILDUP FROM THE REAR PUMP. THATS WHY IT IS LEAKING EVERYWHERE. IF YOU DON'T STOP THE PRESSURE YOU ARE ASKING FOR A PROBLEM.

THE HOLE NEEDED TO BE "DE-PRESSURIZED" AND PLUGGED IS THE HOLE CLOSEST TO THE CABIN OF THE CAR (THE ONE WITHOUT THE LITTLE PLATE NEXT TO IT).

OK HERES THE STEP BY STEP PROCESS:

1.) REMOVE THE FOUR (IIRC) BOLTS ON THE BACK OF THE PUMP HOLDING THE PUMP TOGETHER TIGHTLY.2.) SLOWLY REMOVE THE END PLATE AND GASKET (DON'T GET DIRTY OR LOSE ANYTHING)3.) NOTICE THE LITTLE METAL FINS (THEY ARE CALLED VEINS), THERE SHOULD BE 10 - 14 I CAN'T REMEMBER THE EXACT NUMBER.4.) WITH A TELESCOPE MAGNET REMOVE ALL OF THESE VEINS5.) REPLACE THE GASKET AND BACK PLATE AND TIGHTEN IT TOGETHER WITH THE FOUR BOLTS.6.) GET A PLUG FOR THE REAR HOLE (OPPOSITE THE PULLEY) AND USE SOME SORT OF LOCK-TITE (ANYTHING MAKING A SCREW HARDER TO REMOVE WILL WORK).7.) HOSE IT UP AND CHECK FOR LEAKS

SIT BACK AND ENJOY PS NOW.

what if he pump is already leaking because i didn't remove the fins, and just ran it pluged? Will i have to replace a seal, or will he seal hold since the pressure is right?

P.S. Projectrb240sx you are very helpfull, thank you.

NO PROBLEM

BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, I DON'T KNOW. IT ALL DEPENDS I GUESS. IF THE SEAL IS BLOWN OUT (MISSHAPED, MISSING PIECES, ETC.) THEN YEAH YOU WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE SEAL. WHERE IS IT LEAKING FROM? IF I KNEW THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO HELP ALITTLE MORE.

I would give it a 80% chance of being ok... it was leaking from the pulley shaft input area (not sure what it would be called) only at 6k+ RPM's. Since it was ok around low R's it sounds to be ok. Good thing you disconnected it when you did.

IF ITS LEAKING FROM THE PULLEY SHAFT IT MAY BE THE SHAFT SEAL/BEARING IS BLOWN OUT.

That's what you'd think... but it doens't do it until the last 1k to redline. Shouldn't it leak before then if it's blown out? I'm sure we will find out when we mod the fins. Ready for some surgery Hybrid? Either that or he's going to take the PS off of mine when my clip gets here... i'm debating PS or no PS... leaning toward not having it.

Has anyone run across an aftermarket manual rack for the 240's? I can't find one anywhere... and none came with it from the factory so I've found. I just don't like the idea of running a power rack manual... although it might be fine since I've never heard of anyone having trouble with it as a manual rack. I'm just thinking if the inside is designed to be wet with fluid... wouldn't something dry out if you ran it dry with no fluid cycling through it?

FILL IT WITH FLUID AND PUT A TUBE BETEEWN THE TWO OUTLETS, THIS ALLOWS THE FLUID TO KEEP MOVING. ITS A CHEAP POWER TO MANUAL CONVERSION AND IS PROVEN TO WORK.
