power steering ?

if my car hasnt had power steering or lines hooked up for 6 months would i have damaged my steering rack because i have everything to hook it up now but i dont know if it would leak or not

Did you have the lines capped off? It should not leak unless something was damaged since it was off. the problem you will have is air in the system, but should bleed out with some time adding fluid and turning the wheel with the car running.

no it was not capped off but then the only thing is its goin to have air in the system

Dust,rocks,dirt, and random $hi t you run over will get traped in their and make your car harder to steer. I took a small piece of silicone hose and looped the holes in the rack together and sealed it with the same high temp silicone I used for the oil pan. You cant just block off to hole becase when you turn the wheel fluid would enter from one side and exit the other.
