Power Steering Screech

I have a problem, Everytime i take a turn the power steering lets out a loud screech. What causes this to happen when i changed the belt this started to happen.

I would guess your belt is too loose. The belts on this engine need to be tighter than most imagine before they stop squealing.

Thats not good i broke the tension bolt a long time ago. The rest of the bolt is still in there. Where do i go from here? Buy a new pump?

Just to be safe.. check the power steering fluid level as well.. if you are low on fluid the pump will

The level is pretty good. Maybe i will take the belt off for a while intill i get the new pump. Or can i just buy a new tension bolt, getting the old bolt out will be a alot of work

You should be able to get a new bolt from Nissan. If you take the belt off, it will be tough to steer. You are right, it will be a lot of work, but it's one of those things that just has to get done.

Wait, your broke the tensioner bolt? And then expected the belt to not be loose? I hope I'm reading this wrong.........

I know that seems stupid but i thought that i had it on there enough when it broke. The bolt had only a couple more twists to go and it would have been ready. I really don't see how it broke but io guess i figured it was on tight enough, but recently it started to make the screech noise.

Dont mean to jack the thread but since we are talking about power steering...is it difficult to change out the power steering pressure hose?
