power steering resovoir overflowing

Of course once u handle a old problem with cars, a new 1 arises. B4 getting ready to do struts, i noticed something leaking when i turn the car off. Its coming from under the pwr str resovoir cap. When I bought the car, the dude said he was about to do work to the rack and pinion and left the part for me. Im no mechanic so its still there cuz until now, it steers better than this damn 07 Volvo we just rented. The peice he left was a insulator. Ne 1 familiar with that part and what does the overflowing indicate.?

P.S.- My power steering pump is noisy 2. Dont know if that helps.

Well when i got it back from Maaco, it was pretty low . I put some infiniti pwr str fluid in ,took bout 1/2 the bottle. I did have to add some lucas rack and pinion fluid to it back when i got it last yr. I put that in there since it renewed worn rack and pinion. If its air is that hard to get out?

with the lucas or regular fluid, cuz i think i did with both

Im jsut saying you didnt fill it to the top of the resovior, but to where it should be on the dipstick?

u talkin bout the 1inch dipstick underneath the pwr steering resovoir cap.
