I know 1991-1994 Q45t's have a little switch attached to the power steering cap that when the reservoir is low the HICAS light is triggered. Well I also know that the power steering system is a sealed system and fluid leaks and ruptures are rare if maintenance is regular on the system.

I myself am undecided on this because I check the power steering fluid more than once a week. But I just came up with the idea and wouldn't mind some input.

But is it worth adding the HICAS power steering cap to and non Q45t?

Yeah I thought so I mean its too much of a hassle anyways for a feature that would scare the crap out of you.

Trained and sensitive drivers will sense low PS level long before a level sensor in constant state of turbulence [running].

Coming from a 1991 Q45 that had a leaky power steering line I know what you mean.

What about using the reservoir from a 1991-1994 Q45t because those had more capacity, right?

More oil the more forgiving the system is...Right?

55 gallon drum in trunk with drip valve to replenish.

I just habitually check everything once per week, when I top off windshield washer, look under plenum and check oil/coolant bottle...............in t6he past the driveway was a good indicator.

Got it just trying to see what I can do to make the power steering system as good as can be.
