hey guys, i have a 95 nissan 240sx (auto) and my Power steering rack on the driver side is leaking pretty bad where the boot is located, the seal are in pretty bad shape. My question to you guys is, would it be better to replace the seals? or go with a new rack? i would go for the cheaper solution (seal kit), but im afraid that the shaft might be damaged and the seal kit wouldnt fix the problem and i would need a new shaft to go with it.

If anyone else has had this problem and you have a easy solution, let me know please!! thanks!!!

I would just install a good quality reman rack and be done with it.

Yeah I agree with above, these racks are known to leak. There are a good number of places that reman racks for about $200. Best part, they take your old rack as a core for about $100, so for roughly $100 you can have a good reman rack. check out JC Whitney.

Getting a reworked one is a great idea. I put at least 4 racks on the hatch from donor cars. They leak most of the time due to not replacing the rubber boot that protects the seal. Once water, dirt or moisture gets in the seal, it's done.
