Recently I took on the project to replace my rack and pinion (Gear Link), outer tie rods, new high pressure hose, reservoir, suction hose, return hose, power steering pump. I feel like I have everything connected correctly, but when I start up the car, I see all this splashing in the reservoir, but when I turn it all they way to the left or right the splashing in the reservoir stops, and just viewing what is happening it seems like a lot of the splashing is coming from the return line. I think there is an air leak in the system, but I cant find any leaks. I also saw something about trying to put some pressure in the system to see where the air leak is. Is this the right course, or does it splash in the reservoir normal?

Thank you
Todd

Splashing isn't exactly normal but it is normal to get a lot of roiling action visible in the reservoir when the system isn't producing any assist pressure. The fluid is pretty much just flying through the system without doing anything, so the reservoir will look sort of bubbly because of the amount of fluid cycling straight back from the pump. That's normal.
