so, i owned a second gen rx7 sometime ago and loosing the power steering pump always stood out as a nice modification to improve steering responce, feel, and free up a little horse power. i just got my sr into my s13 and in the test runs i noticed the steering seems too active. its extreamly light and soft, so much so that it feels like i could just careen the car off the side of the road with the flick of my wrist. nothing is hooked up to the shut off on the factory line, but im thinking about removing the power steering all togather and just runing a tube from the feed and return line on the rack. what do you guys think? i dont really care about parking lot agility anyways, and it feels nearly the same when your moving over 10 mph.

ya, i'm well aware that once i cut the metal tubes on the rack that im stuck with my decision. i found out today that there is no speed cut on the 240sx power steering pumps, the thing i thought it was, was a power steering pump pressure sensor for the iacv . so thats not getting hooked up. but i still have the urge to loose it, i dunno, is there anyone on here that has had experience with a 240 with no power steering?

I once took my old ps pump apart, it's a vane style pump. So any way easiest suggestion i'd say is take it off open it up take the vanes out put the housing back toghether and take off the lines and reservoire. There you go it's off and you don't have to mod the pulley.
