I bought a new power steering pump but it does not include the pulley. I just took my old power steering pump out and now need to remove the pulley from it. The pulley for the j30 has a nut instead of it just locking in so a pulley remover will not work for this. Has anyone else had this problem?

FSM shows a snap ring inside of the pulley....is that what keeps it on?

Not sure what a snap ring is or where it's located

I'm looking at the diagram right now. The snap ring is in the shaft. The nut is what I need to get off. I'm just not sure how I go about getting the nut off

seems like you are going to have to put the pulley in a vise to hold it still, then wrench the nut off while holding the pump body still

I'll try opening it up from the back to see if that's what I have to do

I got it. I had to clamp the whole pump in place and put a Allen wrench into one of the wholes on the pulley and the bolt whole in the pump. Then it came off when I used a socket wrench.
