power steering problems: 1999 infiniti I30t

over the last several months, my steering has stiffened 2-3 times for just a few seconds within the first mile of driving. it then returns to normal. any idea what it happening here?

Check the oil level and see if low. Look for leaks-should be red oil if any leaking.
