Power Steering Problem
Hey guys I have a little problem with my power steering pump I was driving as normal and turning was fine then all of a sudden I was stopped at a light i went to turn the wheel slightly and it was pretty hard to turn so I started trying to turn it and yea well I have loss of power steering so when I got into a parking lot I had a look at the pump and there was power steering fluid sprayed all over under the hood, the fluid was completely gone and I started it up and noticed some bubbling around a bolt by a pressure hose. It was pretty lose I mean I could tighten it and loosen it by hand thats how loose it was now does anybody know what the problem would be? If I could simply just tighten it and put some more fluid in or what? Or is that some kinda pressure release valve?
I blew a power steering hose off drifting. It gets a little scary when it get that hard to turn the wheel. I had the same bolt loosen up and a big mess. I just tignted everything back up put more fluid in. After i filled the resivor up I turned the wheel a few times to make sure there wasn't a leak and rechecked the level.

Yea I tightened everything up again last night and put some fluid in, turned the wheel drove it around the block but it was still stiff and the fluid all leaked out, didnt look like it was from that bolt, but it was loose again. Today I figured Id try one more time to find the problem when I got home I took the bolt out had a closer look at everything, fluid passes through the bolt into a hose but this time when I tightened it and filled the reservoir back up it works fine no leaks or anything, bolt has stayed tight all day. But do you have any idea what would cause the bolt to back out like that? It must take alot of pressure to make that bolt loosen off I have no idea what caused it.
