Heres the deal, I bought an SR and it came with the Hicas pump, I bought a KA24DE pump as with the non-Hicas SR brakcet they will work. Also you need to swap the pulleys.

Here is the HICAS pulley

THE KA24DE pulley

A non-HICAS SR pulley

If the pics dont work go here

The problem is I cant get the SR Hicas pulley off the pump. As you can see there is not just a nut that you can take off and the pulley slides off, like the KA and non-HICAS SR pumps. It is threaded on the inside. So how do I get it off, and if I do get it off, will it fit on my KA24DE pump? I am assuming it wont, as the KA pulley is completely flat so that a nut can be put on, but the HICAS pump sticks outward so no nut could be attached. Is there a USDM pulley that I can use, off a Senta SE-R or G20 or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am really not sure what to say. Another member here I believe said that the KA pulley would work if you flipped it around. Is the non-HICUS KA pulley 4 rib?

Nope it is only 3 and is bigger in diameter.

Are you counting the ribs on the pulley or the belt? I believe from your pic that the SR is a 4 rib belt (3 rib pulley). So if the offset is "okay" then I don't see a problem. As long as the size difference isn't too much that shouldn't matter. And even if it is you could always try it and see how the steering feels.

The KA pulley is one rib less than the SR pulley. As far as I know the KA bracket will not work, but I dont have one so I havent tried it.

Like I told you on NWN, remove one of the sets of veins to disable one of the high pressure lines. Then cap it off, this is what everyone with a Hicas pump does to use them. You cant switch pulleys because the Hicas pump is connected all the way through the ps pump, its not meant to be removed. Hence the reason you cant get that pulley off.

If the serial number is what I think it is, 49132-52F00, then the only compatible subsitute is off of another S13 SR20DET PS pump.

well if that doesnt work out, all you have to do it have someone make a bolt/plug for the second outlet on the pump, the one in the rear. also take a part the pump and remove the little metal fins from the rear pump on the inside. it will all make sense when you do it.

thats what i did, i had the same prob
