Well I'm going to go test my power steering pump later but I want get a second opinion of what could be wrong with my power steering. When I first start my car it's really stiff and hard to turn but after a second of turning the steering wheel back and forth it loosens up. Could it be my power steering pump?

Have you tried getting the car up in the air on jack stands and having someone move the steering wheel just after starting while looking under the car? Look at the rack, check the boots, look for leaks etc. Could be a small leak you have, and in the morning pressure needs to build up again? just a guess.

My car's a 95 but has 220k+ miles on the original stuff. There are a lot of things on the car thats all messed up from age and mileage. I've been going through and replacing this and that. And it's always small things you wouldn't think of that might cause a problem. Replaced old gas filter the other day, and one really small section of fuel line was super squishy and just didn't feel right. I replaced it and looked around a little more, it had been slowly leaking fuel. There were runs of dirt caked onto the passenger side of the engine bay :/

I just recently re-did the entire power steering setup. Haven't taken the car out of the garage since doing so, YET. Waiting on finishing up parts of the cooling system.

All kinds of things were left neglected by the previous owner. Tires the car came with had sidewall cracks large enough to fit a quarter into, could slide em right in and have them stick out. LOL

WOW! yeah i had the same problem but mine is more or stupid little things steering wheel was shakin at 50 - 55 was gonna check my alignment n get the wheels balanced but noticed my tires were under pressure n the right front was at 40 PSI the rest were at 20 PSI brought them all to 29 PSI and fixed the problem. When i first got the car the motor oil was so black i mean it was disgusting!
