Just today I noticed a lot of noise coming from my engine when the steering wheel was being turned. I also noticed some oil/fluid had leaked on the driveway. It was hard to tell what it was as the driveway was wet and I could not pull the car into the garage. It appeared as though the power steering reservoir was a little low. I am thinking that this is a power steering pump leak. Any suggestions for the next step would be appreciated. I am not afraid to tackle this one by myself, but some guidance by one of you experts would be very beneficial.

Thanks.

I have a service manual that is on a cd. I haven't looked at it yet as I just discovered this issue this evening. I will look into the Haynes manual too. Any other suggestions?

On my 95, its hard to get in and look at the PS pump. Its also difficult to tighten the PS belt if its loose.

Right now I have a leaky hose that is splitting up themiddle (low pressure hose). I just cant replace it withouthelp cause somebodys got to hold the clamp while I tightenit. It will require for me to remove the front right wheel andmaybe the slash guard under the wheel well.

Some guys push Lucas products to stop slow leaks butI dont know about that.

Nissan OEM pumps are about $500 each while you can getAutozone pumps for $250.

The Nissan floor shop manual shows how you can rebuild one.
