Power Steering Noise

1993 240sxfor a few months my power steering has been leeking and i have been filling it up when it is low. but recently i have been hearing this really annoying whining noise coming from the power steering pump and it gets worse when i turn the wheel. also over time as the noise has gotten worse and the steerin wheel has become very tight. i guess my question is does this sound like the ps pump is gone and if it is would it be worth repairing or just riping it out. also if i take the pump out will it make my steering a lot stiffer or not any worse then an already blown pump and is there any good ways to convert to a non power steering system. this seems like it is gettin really long so thanks for you time and response.

Sounds like time to replace the power steering pump. I would just replace it, powersteering does wonders for handling and drivability.
