SOHC KA

So last time drifting i blew the high pressure line (the rubber part) so i went home and went to get a new line made, driver all the time without fluid etc and the high pressure hose Screw was unbolted.

So i put my new HP line, fill it up, and start the car up, and theres a LOUD buzzing noise on the pump, i once had it but it fixed after a while drving, but this time the noise wont go away, also the steering is HARD as hell like nothing is working, its making lots of noise without moving the wheel, also the whole line vibrates, the screw (the bolt that grabs the hose to the pump) and the high pressure hose clamp where the screw goes gets HOT as hell and after a while i get smoke from below the pump....

what could it be.... did i do something wrong? the only thing i can think of is that the high pressure line is plugged, like the steering rack wont take the fluid in, and making the pump return pressure and building it etcetcetc what can i do check?

If you blew that high pressure line, you blew all your PS fluid out in the span of 2-10 seconds. This would have let the PS pump run dry which probably wrecked it. You most likely need a new PS pump. Theres no way you did any damage to the rack itself. PS pumps whine like that when they are shot.

how can i do a quick home test on the pump??? like... disconnecting on the rack and turning on quick to check if theres high pressure, or what? any ideas??? im in the caribbean so i gotta test to be sure that what im gonna buy is the right thing logically its the pump, but im worried about the rack too, if there are no leaks on the rack it means its Good? how to test? xD :D Thx

Hmmm i was reading a LOT about rack pinion and ps systems, so let me do a run down:

Day 1 drifting, high revs, heat, something went wrong on the high pressure line, Builds up too much pressure BOOM, rubber hose part on the hardline blew up, pump keeps running, drains all the rack pinion remaining fluid (Reason for the rack to give into damage?), emphys the system by draining by the high pressure hole in the system......

Repair day: i put my new high pressure, start pump lots of whine, after a while i get smoke from below the pump, and the high pressure hose gets INCREDIBLY hot...... could it be that the rack is kind of blocked and its building too much pressure hence the hot vibrating high pressure line.... and the Relief valve on the PS pump is letting excess pressured fluid to drip and burn on the engine block?

LOL sry if it seems too damn analitical, i just wanna reeeeeaaalllyyyy spot the problem exactly, im gonna unplugg the high pressure line and do a cycled fluid run somehow, just to see if its flowing with pressure and to see if the pump whines i think that would help me :D

Edit: BINGO i think im right!, in the fsm where u put a pressure tester on the highpressure line, it says: If the shutoff valve is closed pressure may build on the line and to relief pressure causing abnormal oil temperature! :D Steering rack woes!

SOLVED:

Dissasembled the high pressure hose, and blew air with a compressor... turns out the hose is sealed somewhere so thats why my pump was vibrating and overheating, ****ING IDIOTS WHO MADE MY HOSE SOLDERED SOMETHING maybe they melted the insides too :@
