Much easier to just buy a power steering pump from someone else on the forums. Of course they are repairable (after all, autozone, kragen, etc sell rebuilt power steering pumps), but I don't know if there's a kit or anything for the diy'er.

Check the hoses and clamps first. If they are intact, you have a problem with the pump. I had a small leak in the exact same spot, but fixed it in like 15 min. There are about 4 bolts holding 2 main pieces of steering pump. I simply tightened them and leak stopped. I think you should try this and see if it gets better. If so, I would take it out, take them apart, clean up, reseal and put them back together. The seal/gasket might have gone bad. There's not much, so it's fairly easy to do. I first noticed power steering fluid on bottom of AC compressor and found the leak was coming from lower side of p/s pump which is located right above AC compressor. I had a leak everywhere on the system. High pressure hose, resovoir, pump...etc, but fixed all of them with no problem. Yeah, tighten those bolts and see if leak gets better or stop. I would go from there. BTW, to get to those bolts, you have to remove a bunch of stuff. IIRC, you don't have an access to one bolt, so just tighten others and see. BTW, NICO member 'babowc' is very familar with p/s pump. You can ask him if you want.

Do what they all said first, especially check the clamped hose. Its easy to replace and a likely culprit.

If its really coming from behind the pulley then the shaft oil seal is probably shot. If you remove the pulley there is a sealed ball bearing first, then behind the bearing is the shaft oil seal. I just pulled a pump apart not an hour ago 'for fun' when I replaced mine. I pretty much had to destroy what was left of the bearing to get the shaft out to see what the oil seal looked like. Actually I think the bearing was destroyed before I thoroughly re-destroyed it trying to get the shaft out.

Put a thread in the classified section, you'll find a used one no problem. I wasnt able to find any rebuild kits. Cheapest rebuild I could find was Autozone, then Advance, both at around $170. Pep boys and Napa wanted almost $200. Its criminal, there is nothing to these pumps. I had this thing apart in about 10 minutes.

Yeah, not much going on there. Some blades turn and generate pressure.

I rebuild the Z32 PS Pump for $100, I should be able to rebuild your pump around the same price, let me check and I will get back to you..
