power steering issue

trying to find out what the part on the power steering rack is called,it looks like a valve or sol.it has 2 wire's coming off of it going to a plug.When I turn the wheel it get's easy then hard,the last time it did that I taped on that part and it started working perfectley but now it's doing it again...

When the solenoid activates it allows lighter steering. It is supposed to activate during slow driving. If it doesn't see the proper signal or it sticks it defaults to heavy steering.

Thank's the site you gave me isn't working but that's alright,I have a feeling it is just sticking again do you have any idea what the cost of 1 of those are because nobody around were I live carries it.

Hmm, I just clicked on the link and it opened up the pdf. Try it again. It's my car audio company web site. The pdf is the heavy steering troubleshooting guide from the FSM.

You can also try just going to:

Then scroll down to the pdf file that's called "94 Q45 Power Steerin..>". You don't see the entire name because it gets cut off.
