So I have an 89 240 doing the SR swap and I cant find any 91+ p/s lines. So I know my other option is to have a shop modify them. The shop that does all the swaps in town said they would charge me $200, but I have heard people having it done for 30-50 bux. So I am considering taking it to another non-nissan specific shop to get them to do it. Can someone tell me, or show me in pictures exactly what needs to be done? Also, if I do this can I just bolt my SOHC reservoir on the other side of the engine bay or do I need a DOHC one? Thanks in advance.

How many junkyards have you been to? Honestly, if your not going to grab 91-94 PS lines, I would say its not even worth it. Just drain the fluid and go manual steering. At least i would rather do that than pay $200. There are so many s13's at junkyards and being parted out in the B/S/T forum its hard to imagine them being a tough item to find.

I went to ever single junkyard in the city, there is only 4 240's that I found, all zenkis. The only wrecked 91+ ones were at the shop/junkyard that does the SR swaps, and of course the lines were gone. I went back 30 pages in the b/s forum and emailed everyone that was parting out a car, and I have got only one responce from someone with an JDM clip, but of course those lines wouldnt work. Nobody wants to send their stuff to Canada I guess.

I would concider just not doing power steering then. I know one guy who said he actually prefered non-power steering on the S13. Plus you'll save weight and money (dont ever have to buy a PS belt :D )

The difference with the reservior is the color. The SOHC ones are darker, while the DOHC ones are lighter (duh). The SOHC lines can be fitted to work, you need to get some welding done after you cut the metal tubing of the ps line.

Well, I can jump on some from our local junkyard from you, but I would definitely have to waste an afternoon and then ship 2 Canada, which I have never done.

Let me know. If you are serious, email. [email protected]

BTW, I live in Miami. 240's are all over here. Its like a junkyard gold mine.

Just go to car-part.com and look up a place (anywhere in US or Canada) who has a PS reservoir, then call them up (or email them) and ask them if they still have the lines going to the power steering rack. Most places do, and they'll throw them in for cheaper since you're getting the reservoir.
