No real special tools needed, just a big wrench and a new hose. I'd try and drain the reservoir as best I could first. Under the car would be the best approach. Afterwards, I believe the bleeding procedure is to leave the cap off the P/S reservoir and turn the wheel left and right to lock 5 times each way, and have a friend monitor the fluid level and add more as needed. Good luck!

I would also make sure the copper crush gasket is replaced. There's one on each end, rack end and pump end. You can reuse them if you'd like but replacing them is always best if you're replacing the hose. Good luck.

^ Agreed Dax. In desperate hours, I have aneeled them and reused them with good success. But, the best thing to do is replace them.

Another tip, before you start the car, turn the wheel lock to lock a few times to get more air out.

+1. It may take a little to get ALL the air out so don't worry. When I relocated my reservoir to under my nose panel, it took a good week to get all the air out! No problems now tho.

thanks for the tips! do the boost hoses need to be taken off, or is it easier from the bottom?
