Does anyone know where to start with adding power steering to my car. It is a 1990 hatch w/a ca18det. I dont really know if I have lines in it still or what, I am looking for some info about what I need (i.e. pump, lines, hoses, etc.). I have plenty of junkyards around that I can pull parts from- I am hoping the ka stuff will help me.

Thanks

I will send you a power steering pump from my ca swap I just bought. I think it has one of the hoses attached, and I have others in my 240 parts car. Let me know if you are interested in this stuff, I will pull all the pieces I have and send pics. I can get them to you for 25 bucks ("labor" to remove the parts) plus shipping. I can't guarantee any of it, but it may be some help.

You need DOHC KA power steering lines to and from the rack and the resevoir, along with the CA18DET p/s pump, bracket and tensioner.

will the ka24de pump work? If not, how about the 88' Pulsar NX Se Power Steering pump?

I'd be surprised considering the pulley's are differant sizes, not to mention the pulsar's PS pump is on the intake side of the motor.

No and no. The DOHC KA pump wont bolt up to the CA bracket, nor will the KA bracket bolt up to the CA engine. The Pulsar pump is upside down cause it does, indeed, bolt up to the other side (ive tried both). In the end, the only thing i found to work is a CA18DET pump and bracket.

someone recently posted on here... I'd look up the thread;91 240SX (KA24DE) power steering pump fits CA bracket AND tensioner AND pulley. I swapped the low pressure hose fitting over from my CA pump, but KA one usable, just reroute hose. Also, I used KA banjo fitting (required hacking off part of CA bckt).

You will need dohc lines and reservoir. If you don't have them I have a complete p/s setup minus pump. All the lines and the rack if you need them shoot me an email .
