power steering goes out when speedometer goes out. 1996 Q45t
when driving I lose power steering and my speedometer. Then after awhile it comes back and power steering comes back sometimes stays off for awhile. Can anyone help me?

Pretty sure rsiwicki had a simliar issue, after swapping in his 4.08 and trying to use a "yellow box".maxnix wrote:Speed sensor?

Check the FSM. Think there is a relay associated with PS pump also.

The speed sensor sends a signal to an IC [mounted in speedometer housing] which sends speed signals [0 to 5 volts] to TCU, PS pressure controller, the ecu, and the actual speedometer [voltmeter].
Other than bad wiring, the most common failure is the speedometer assembly itself [the part that creates the 0-5 volts].
