I have a power steering leak, its just a bad hose, But what i really want to know is what kind of fluid i should be using and if i am currently using the incorrect fluid can i just add the correct fluid and not worry about them mixing.

whats the deal here

Its in your manual I belive. My 02 uses Dextron and you can suck out the old with a turkey baster (not professional way) and then add transmission Fluid Dextron. Yes I said that.Look at your book. if the fluid is red, you have Dext.

My power steering fluid reservoir has it right on the cap - Dexron III. For some reason, none of the "Power Steering Fluid" bottles in the store said whether or not they were Dexron III, so I bought transmission fluid that said it was Dexron III.

Is there a drain on the rack?

It seems like the turkey baster method would only change out a small percentage of the fluid.

It does have the benefit of being quick, easy and cheap though!
