I have a 4th gen max and when I start it up in the mornings I get this abnormal noise that increases and decreases when I press on the gas. And when I turn the wheels they make noise. After about 5 minutes of driving its fine for the rest of the day. Now I know that my power steering fluid is very low, could this be the factor of all of this?

-thanks

I recently bought an oil suction gun and each week for a monthsucked out all the brake fluid and PS fluid and replaced them and putin fresh fluids (in case the old oil was too old and used.) I had neverchange my PS or brake fluid and the car has 157K on it (95 maxima)

Have you checked your belt deflection? On mine it should be 1/4to 1/2 inches. I corrected mine 2 weeks ago and the squeeling uponstart up went away. I have two belts but can only adjust one nowbecause some %#@* stripped the gear on the adjustor for the PS.

Of course you need to put the proper quantity of fluid in the PS reservoir.

Thanks, I'll check out my belt and definitely fill up the reservoir-and see what happens from there.
