I asked this question about a month ago, but I don't think I was very clear with my wording. I have a 1998 I30 that developed a power steering fluid leak. Actually, I have leaks at 4 locations. There is a steel cooling line that runs in front of the radiator. It is connected to two sections of rubber hose that are each about a foot in length. Each of those rubber hoses connects to steel lines that run up to the reservoir. At each of the four connections on these two rubber hoses leaks have developed. Initially, I tightened the clamps but still had leaks. I bought power steering return line and new OEM clamps. I installed but still had leaks. I changed to transmission cooling line and new clamps and even double clamped, but still have leaks. I checked with Infiniti and these two hoses are about $28 each. Short of going to the dealer and paying an arm and a leg for two pieces of rubber - do any of you have any suggestions or had this problem before? The car has only 78K miles on it and has been very reliable to this point.

Are you topping off your PS reservoir periodically?

I add a few ounces about every week. I don't drive the car a lot right now as I tend to use my motorcycle as much as I can. I would probably be adding more fluid if I used the car more. I have been over the whole ps assembly and I am sure about the locations of the leaks. They are confined to the connector hoses between the steel lines.

Can you see if the hose is splitting horizontally rather than crackingaccross? The horizontal split is tough to see.

Yes if you plan this repair please re-read the FSM and Haynescarefully and have a friend help you and give yourself pleny oftime.

I sent you back an email about this, but yahoo has been acting sketchy for me lately.

Are the new hoses installed over the flare in the steel line? Since the steering lines are pressurized, sealing is critical.
