I have a 91 300zx NA. I just got the car and it has a power steering leak from the high pressure hose going from the pump to the rack crossing the front of the car. the metal hose is rust through would cutting out the rust section and putting in a new piece of hose with compression fittings hold? just curious if any one else has tried this.

I've never tried it, but I don't think that would work. That is a very high pressure line, and if the metal is rusted through, the rubber can't be much better off. Those fittings are generally crimped on with a large hydraulic press, and are one piece, as opposed to the three piece design of a compression fitting. If it were mine, I wouldn't try it.

Just change the line, its not that difficult to do (as opposed to other things on this car) and it will save you spending on a new alternator every 6 months too.

Change the line. Doubtful that repair would hold.

Sweat, blood, and tears, my friend. You'll love to hate this car.

Radiator pull gives you a bit more clearance, but you can do it without a pull.

already pulled radiator but it runs in front of the condenser and is probably gonna be pre-bent so I'm not sure how to get it around the condenser and a/c lines back to where it is suppose to be without cutting it. or removing the condenser.

Technically, the line you are describing is the "low pressure ps hose, it is the return line to the res.
If I remember correctly, if you remove the front bumper cover, you should have enough room to install the metal tube line.

And it really is not necessary to follow the factory routing (it's suggested since Nissan engineers are probably pretty dang smart). I posted in the forsale thread, please respond.

i ended up having to pull both fenders hood and bumper cover. i was unable to reach the bolts holding the number cover to the fender.

Those bolts are accessible through the turn signal holes (once turn signal housings are removed) all you need is a 10mm socket and a 6" or more extension. The other bumper cover bolts that mount to the fenders and underfender structure need to be accessed through the fender well.

So you ended up removing pretty much the whole front clip, haha interesting.
