Hmmm... Here's what you should do then. Take off the belt to the power steering belt and see if you like it or not. If you like it, hell take it out and sell it on ebay, hundreds of people want to buy it including me, I'll sell it at a marked up price hehehe. I for one, don't want to grap the steering wheel with both hands when at a stop trying to turn the steering wheel.

If you don't mind driving with two arms and giving a bit effort to turn the wheel then go ahead.. i dont understand why you would but... yea..

I on the other hand, like to drive with one hand (turning the wheel with one arm) soo I wouldnt like it if my wheel wasnt power steering....

No no no, if you leave the PS fluid in there it will be hard as hell to turn the wheel.

I like my powersteering. My power steering line poped of during AutoX, it turned pretty ugly fast. I would recommend not doing it but thats just my opinion. Nick

Just get the lines from a 91+ S13. They'll work just dandy.

its not that bad.. my first 240 had no ps, it still even had hte fluid in I think... So if you take it off properly then it shouldnt be that bad.

You can really feel the road too. When you have P/S you turn the wheel and you can kinda feel the slack before it kicks in.. you know?

Im not sure, but I dotn htink you need the motor out to re-run the lines, so how about start with it off, if you hate it, put it back on?

I had an 89 coupe with an SR and I never bothered to get the power steering lines from a DOHC. It wasn't so bad, takes a little more effort, but you should always be driving with two hands anyway Don't expect to talk on your cell phone or eat a burger while you're driving.

what do you mean... i still eat, talk on the phone and drive stickshift with no p/s

when you first go without power steering its a PITA. after a couple weeks... you want to go back to p/s. after a month, your arms are huge and you really all don't care that much, and it feels like you're regularly driving the car.

you get used to not having it...

What you should do is turn the key to "on", but don't turn it actually start it. You just want the wheels to unlock without the engine running. Turn the wheel and see how it feels. I have had my 240SX for only one week, and I have already tried it. I would say it isn't too bad overall. My daily driver is a 1991 Honda Civic sedan without P/S, and I can drive it just fine. The 240SX is just a bit tougher, but still doable.

I wouldn't recommend the "plug up the lines" method. The rack from a power steering car and the non power steering are geared differently. It will be harder to steer the PS rack with no function then the non-ps rack. I've tried it both ways on my friends cars and I don't like. I'd just get the stuff to move the resvoir over. Just my opinion though.

just see what you like. Trial and error. If it seems to hard for you w/o then just put it back on. Some people say it helps with car control? i dont know how but w/e

I had no ps for one year. It got old. I have ps now. You lose some steering feel but over all the car is easier to control at low speed. And parking without PS.. you better be a big guy.

Yeah, I'm powersteeringless since my swap, but the last 3 attempts have been hell to make it work...seems the line gets pressure but not my pump, but thats all besides the point. Not having p/s isn't all that bad, and it makes you look really strong infront of chicks. The way you wield a 2000+ vehicle around.

ha, have to agree with you on that one.

only reason i dont have ps is because my motor came with a hicas pump that was leakaing, and i didn't feel like ordering a new sr bracket and pump so i just blocked everything off.

sometime this winter ill get the bracket and pump and it'll definitely go back on...
