nopt not even close, the cv boot goes ont eh cv shaft (rear haflshafts, the things that make the tires turn) a ps boot goes on you guessed it the power steering :) they cover the inner tie rod end where it bolts to the steering rack

Sorry, but I need more layman's terminology. I'm a DIY-er. The boot that turns the front driver's side tire is torn and is leaking fluid. Need to know specifically which it is and how to replace it

you need a steering rack boot, aka tie rod boot

a cv boot is in the back of the car and covers the parts that make it go, a steering rack boot in in the front of the car and covers the parts that make it turn

and fwiw a rack/tie rod boot? only lets otu a small amount of grease fi the rack is workign correctly, if you have afluid leak it's likleya leaking rack, thsi is caused by boneheads putting power steering fluid int he power steering system, might sound stupid but nissnas use dextron type atf in their power steering systems, if your's is leaking you can try drainig it and refilling wiht the propper fluid
