Power stearing pump bad at 1500 miles

I recently purchased an 08 350z. I had to put it in the shop today for a steering isuue I got a call from the service tec at my local dealer saying the power steering pump burned out a bearing and had to be replaced along with the hoses. Not the worst news ever, I am a little blown though the car is only 4 weeks old with less than 1500 miles. The bad news is that I will now be unable to attend the meet this Sunday in my own car. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
