A few weeks back, I posted a post talking about how my power stays on with the key out of the ignition, I noted that a few of my fellow members were having the same problem. I recently fixed this problem on my car, and I would like to drop some knowledge to possible help a few members who are experiencing the same problem.

Option 1: In the front of the car, where you plugged the harness in, there is a brown plug. You will see a thin red/black wires there. Make a small opening in the insulation, take any other wire and when everything is lugged in, ground that red/black wire to the negative side of the battery. You should hear a click.Option 2: Jump the black/white wire on the grey plug(next to brown plug), to the black/red wire(brown plug); and cut the black/white wire from the plug.

I'm a little confused, can you take a pic of the plug or describe its location getter... and for option one what do you mean "take any other wire and when everything is plugged in, ground it"

The brown and grey plugs are located behind your left headlight next to your battery; they plug into your engine harnes.onece you plug everything in(not battery) make a opening in black/red wire, then take a wire connect it to the openng you made; then hookup the battery then touch the other side of that wire to negative side of the battery. hope that help

Pictures would be required for maximum effect. Is that possible?

I can't believe that a correctly maintained system will have any of these problems. Is this specific to the KA->CA conversions?

I've had thermofans keep relays open, but that's specific to relay triggering techniques, and certainly nothing to do with any factory wiring decision.

For the power to stay on without a key in the ignition, the ignition relay (specific to late model cars (post 1974) ) would need to be held open.

So I think rather than a solution, a description of the problem, and an explanation of what's staying on to cause the symptoms you describe, would be a much more interesting read.

Your description is not dissimilar to the method to disarm a bomb in a US-made film :-)

Cheers.

its all about the colors... anyone can disarm a bomb, they call like keannou reeves and ask what color wire to cut. thats why when I build a bomb I always cross the wires. I put red where green usually is, and yellow where red usually is, etc. its pretty badass.
