Hey, no i didnt have to remove the seat at all, the motor is like right in the middle and maybe 4" back from the front of the seat you cant miss it if you get your head down there. There isnt a mahual needed (or atleast I didnt), I simply undid the 2 connections that go to the motor, cleaned them with electrical spray cleaner, reassembled, gave it a few taps with a small ratchet and voila it worked, dont know if it was the electrical or the tapping that fixed it, but its still working great to this day....
