I'm not saying that I want to do this right now, but I was vacuuming my car the other day and I put the seat all the way back and there were all kinds of wires under there. Does that mean that even though I have the base model, my car is wired for power seats? If I could find a pair of seats out of a touring model that had been wrecked or something, would they fit in my car and operate properly?

The way you clean a car I'm shocked you didn't remove the seats so you could shampoo the carpetting underneath! :)

I'd be surprised (which is my way of hedging and saying "I'm sure they are, but if I'm wrong don't blame me") if power seats weren't plug-n-play. It's a manufacturer's way of expediting vehicle assembly. I've seen plenty of examples where a car that didn't come with some option (factory foglights are a good example) but still had all the wiring in place and ready, just waiting for whatever option to get installed - and maybe operating switches.

...which is another thing you should check for if you were thinking about maybe getting a set with the seat warmers. Check and see if you've got the switches (or at least wiring behind the knockouts) so they arent' a big pain to get hooked up. If not, well...you do live in Memphis - how cold can it get there. :)

Love the new sig! :)

Ya know something funny?!?! I have never had to shampoo the carpeting in any of my vehicles. My Camaro will be 16 years old next month and the carpet is still perfectly clean and I had 2 rut rats in it when I first bought it. I vacuum very good, seats all the way back, then all the way up front, keep the floor mats clean and no eating or drinking allowed except my Sonic tea! Gotta have that.

There are a good many wires and they have plastic clippy things on them like they are just ready to hook to something. Next time I'm at the dealership I'll ask them. I really doubt I will find seats though. I imagine that a car that is in that bad of an accident will have the seats pretty much busted up too.

Love me some Bruce Springsteen and I have always loved any song that mentions cars. I have always said, I like my music like I like my cars....LOUD AND FAST!! :naughty:
