Yes, all the time. Eventually, hitting the motor with a hammer stopped working and the seat jammed all the way back. I have dissassembled one of these seats and the gearbox between the motor and seat track is a POS. It is way undersized for the application. Nissan has a factory repair kit but I believe they are about $400 just for the parts. I made a custom seat adapter and put in an old Recaro seat from one of my past project cars. No one makes a seat adapter for our cars. I had to buy one for a Frontier from Wedge Engineering and the then modify it using seat tracks from some banged up Pathfinder seats purchased from a local junk yard. I cut the feet off of the Wedge Engineering adapter for the Frontier and figured out a way to bolt the OEM feet to the Wedge Engineering piece. This is very doable if you have good fabrication skills but not something to tackle if you are a novice.
My costs were $100.00 for 2 banged up junkyard seats. $175 for the Wedge Engineering adapters for the Frontier, $20 for some flat steel strips at Home Depot, $20 for Class 10.9 high strength bolts and $75 for an old Recaro seat. I could have just purchased the factory repair kit but the Recaro is way more comfortable even though I gave up power adjustments. I should also add that finding a Recaro this cheap in decent condition is rare. I got lucky when some old guy in a local car club decided to clean out his basement.
I still think it was worth all the effort. My Pathfinder is a lot more comfortable on long trips with the Recaro seat.
