Hey i just got on this site so hi, i have an 06 350Z coup and was wondering what the best way to give it some more power would be? I was thinking of turbo chargers, a super charger, or just putting in an air intake and an exaust with better headers. The reason why i am wondering is because i want to make the Z stronger and faster while still not building up to much pressure in the engin so that i dont have many big problems in the future, So does anyone have any ideas on what i can do or oppinions? O and one more thing does NOS mess up your engin over time?

all the bolt ons will add only minimal amounts of power, that might be enough for you, turbo and superchargers are a way to add significant amounts of power, turbo has more potential but the harder you push it the shorter the engine life, NOS is completely safe if done properly and you don't get greedy, if you keep the margins low, say max +100 hp gain, then you should be fine, but once you get to the 400 whp mark these engines don't last long, tuning is the most important thing, one ping can trash your motor, stay with quality kits and read the instructions carefully and you'll be ok

Thanks that helps alot i think out of all that i was thinking of doin i was leaning tward super charging it since it can add alot of hp for a bit less than a turbo can in price, But ive heard from people that they mess up your engin over time or something like that is this true? Do they put to much pressure on it since they take HP to make HP?

A properly setup turbo or supercharger setup won't mess up your engine. Unless you are planning on running a quarter of a million miles or something, then you are fine with a conservative forced induction setup. SC vs turbo is an old argument, both have pros and cons. A nice turbo setup on the Z will make more power at all rpms, but costs a little more. Another thing to keep in mind if money is a concern is the install. If you are having a twin turbo kit installed, most shops prefer to drop the engine to do so and you are looking at significantly more money for install than a supercharger.

That sounds like i do want a supercharger then as long as it doesnt put a ton of pressure on the engine heres what i was thinking of its aVortech supercharger made for the 2006 Z's what do you think about its specs since i dont know a ton about superchargers and all does this one sound pretty good?

2003-2006 Nissan 350Z Supercharging Systems

Increase your 350's horsepower from 287 to 412 and torque from 274 lb./ft. to 355 lb./ft. On "Rev-up" models, increase your horsepower from 300 to 440 and torque from 260 lb./ft. to 352 lb./ft.*

Quality Features:

Vortech gear driven supercharger with SQ technology provides nearly silent operation and unmatched reliability Technologically advanced, high-efficiency impeller and housing design developed in Vortech's supercharger text cell Fuel management upgrade includes a high-flow fuel pump and fuel management unit (FMU) Stand-alone ignition timing control computer provides for seamless acceleration Integrated charge cooler configuration allows for additional horsepower gains Oil feed and oil drain assemblies deliver the best possible lubrication and cooling for the supercharger, even under sustained boost conditions Discharge duct connections utilize heat resistant silicon sleeves and premium quality stainless steel clamps Reusable air filter features a high-flow design Billet aluminum mounting bracket for "factory-type" appearance and rigidity Maxflow Racing Bypass Valve provides surge-free compressor operation Supercharger drive system includes all necessary belts and pulleys 50-state smog legal under CARB EO#s D-213-22 and D-213-24

Please Note:*Supercharged horsepower and torque data shown is a calculated estimate based on percentage increases from actual rear wheel hp/tq measurements. These systems will bolt-on to automatic transmission equipped vehicles, however, the transmission may need to be in manual shift mode to avoid engaging the rev limiter.

Warranty InformationThe V-2 supercharger is covered by a three-year limited warranty on complete systems.

with the amount of money your gonna spend doing that you might as well just build the engine make it lower compression, and stick a 200 shot of noz on it.... low compression pistons valves the works... and ur looking at a lot less money than a supercharger or turbo set up and there is no laggg.... besides to make real power with those set ups u up the boost but when u up the boost ur risk blowing the motor so either way ur gonna have to end up making the motor a lower compression motor.....

Ya i know i was gonna do the rods and pistons a little bit later just kinda putting it off i guess, The block is suposedly good for like over 500 so i guess thats good but i was gonna put in that vortech supercharger and an intercooler and top it off by coolin the intercooler even more with one of the new NX N-tercooler which i would have run off CO2, But ya i know what you mean i just cant decide what to do first. Or if i wanna start with engin or looks becasue i also want to put a spoiler and rims on badly. Guess i just need to start workin harder and getting more money lol.
