power problem?

Hi,I just bought a 89' 240sx SE model..about 145,000 Miles on it...Automatic

The car runs pretty decent but the problem that I have with it is that I need to turn on and gas the car for the power to turn on (head lights, power windows, gauge lights).

Anyone know what the problem might be?

sounds like a bad alternator or battery or a combination of the two
