i have a 240sx with an rb20 in it. i had a friend tell me to put a t fitting in the vacum hose that goes from the turbo to the wastegate acuator and it would boost to 11psi. when i did it the car fell on its face. it runs 9psi in 1st gear and when i get in 2nd it will only boost to 3 to 4psi. what could my problem be. thanx guys

o.O... and the T part is going where? if its not connected to anything its a boostleak, and its not giving your wastegate an accurate reading........

Does your friend drive a car with a map sensor? lol....

My friends do that on thier hondas because its less signal going to the wastegate, thus opening it less under load, and creating more boost. We have MAF's which measure air after the turbo so it doesnt work like that on our cars. Make sure you have no T's or anything that are open and make sure that you have a straight shot from your boost source to your wastegate, and that the arm and diaphram for the wastegate are working properly. Also... Do you have the factory boost solenoid wired or hooked up?

How cheap are they? Dear god, this method is simply inefficent...... They are still leaking boost, thus their spool times will suffer... a boost controller can be made for like 11 dollars at home depot....

be more specific what is it doing under load to redline?
