"Avoid using power outlets when the air conditioner, headlights or rear window defroster is on."

So, I can use my dashcam during the drive in to work from November to March, but not the drive home or the rest of the year. Helpful.

Really poor setup of the fuses aside, what are the real chances of blowing a fuse or doing damage if running a power outlet with one, two or three of the other items? It doesn't warn against using any of the other three together.

In my middle console, I attached a 4 power outlet that runs 2 dvd rear 10.5 inch monitors and 1 rear Dashcam. The last outlet is connected to another 2 power outlet adapter that runs a garmin gps and a portable fan. The fan blew a fuse so I took that down but it worked for many years under this set up.

Everything is hidden under the top loading basket.

My front dash cam is hardwired to the fuse box.

Never had a problem driving at night during the hot summer with the AC on either. Many times while using my 100 watt aux driving lights. Moreover, I have upgraded my stereo and speakers which shows my first back up camera video.

I also run a 4 input rear view monitor attached to my rear view mirror that is connected to the low rear backup cam yet again, a top rear located near the brake light always on rear view cam, and my old rear baby cam. All still working.

I can have the rear cam, baby cam, and a dvd video all on at the same time.

Never used dvd input much, baby cam occasionally since kids grown up. It’s mainly used as a rear view monitor. During stoplights at night, most drivers don't shove their bumpers up my a$$ when they can see their headlights on my rear monitor.

I never use the rear defroster for fear of ruining my limousine tint that is covering my oem tint.

Never blew a Nissan fuse ever.

Not bad for running tons of electronics in a decade old vehicle. :woot:

If you have a problem with the headlights killing the power socket then something is seriously wrong, either a bad socket, a bad alternator, or a bad battery current sensor. Most likely it's a bad socket. Nissan power sockets all have a built-in breaker that can get weak with old age and clamp the power with even a modest load. Check the system voltage after about 5 minutes with the high beams and blower full on, it should be about 14V. If it's a lot less then your alternator or current sensor has an issue, get them checked. If it's normal then replace the power socket, it's shot.

TF??? (srry about my language, but holy crap)!

Who literally said to avoid using power outlets when using headlights, AC, or defrosters???? I had all things on at the same time, 3 power outlets in use, and nothing happened on my 2016. Did the same thing on the 2019, not a single issue. You will be fine, honestly.

Agreed, any late model Rogue alternator has more than enough juice to run a dozen dash cams with a couple of cabin heaters left over. However, it also has a "smart" alternator and proper function depends on the BCM/IPDM properly sensing current load and battery condition and passing that info to the ECM. So checking the system is in order.
