So on a rainy Friday night, I head on down to downtown Baltimore to meet up for a friend's birthday. As I make a left turn (going about 30 MPH), I felt a slight skid in the back. I then noticed the "slip" light flash, and then I felt the front wheels grab the road, straightening me out seemlessly.

I thought, "WOW!", that was some serious handling there. The last time I felt the front wheels kick in was during a snow storm was earlier this year, but I was going only 10 MPH.

So let this be a lesson to those of you that do not think you need AWD just b/c you don't get enough snow. The "X" also helps out in the rain as well. So unless you live in AZ or NV (which I know some of you do), having AWD certainly comes in handy (and could save your car or your life).

And Dangerous! I love danger. I do those a lot. Thanks to some L.A. Based movies, we call them "Chicano U-turns"

the X is the Best!!!!!!!!!

i love when it rains... with VDC-Off make hard left turn on to an empty wet road and feel the AWD go to work... four wheel power slide... the rear end comes back around so quick... so its short lived...

yeah VDC- off U-turn with the G35x is fun also... no rear tire spin... just the front tires chirp... my rear tires hardly ever break loose...

Im debating between the X or RWD....

I live in Vancouver BC so we dont get much snow but lots of rain. The thing is I like when the rear kicks out in my vehicles b/c I usually hold it out there for a while with the throttle.... Does the X come back that fast or can you hang it out there a bit?

Just get the S if you don't need the AWD. The AWD rear kic is too short in the rain. you need snow with VTC to have power slide and even that is easy managable. The VDC and AWD is too good in this car. Not that is a bad thing.

Safety first and play later in the parking lot U turns(Chicano U-turns) figure 8 ,etc ,etc.

IMHO the ATTESA ETS is the best thing about the g37 line. Then again, I wanted a daily driver.

The traction/handling combination is unbeatable for a daily driver in rain. We haven't had any snow yet, but I imagine its going to continue to amaze me.

Pardon my ignorance, but how does VDC differ from the AWD of the X?

I think it is same with the RWD version. However the AWD and VDC together just a killer combo.

Wouldn't you be pissed as well? haha

After two weeks of ownership I'm completely convinced there is no better car under $50k than a x!
