power lumbar doesnt work

1997 J30 and the lumbar doesnt work correctly, Sometimes the motor humms and i can feel very little movement and then sometimes all it does is just makes an initial click and the lumbar pulses one time and nothing happens. I dont know much about it but i have a Multi meter i got it because everyone on this site uses it for so many things i just thought it best to get one anyway. Is there something i can check with it or does this sound mechanical. If so does anyone know how to access the motor in the seat? thanks

i have the same problem, i removed the seats back cover, and found out that it is broken, the motor works, but the support (plastic, which i found strange) was broken at two places... i'm going to look further into it soon, i'll update

Wow, that's one more difference between the model years. The 93's and 94's don't have the lumbar adjustment.

thanks for that 95-j30tt, I will try and take the seat cover off tomorrow, but does that plastic piece seem like something that can be ordered or does it seem like its part of the motor as a whole.

i havent gone that far into it, but i remember that it was almost impossible for the lumbar support motor to come out...... i'll look into next weekend.... if you get any progress done, please update
