It's been months and i still can't figure out what is causing this problem. The car is a 92 240sx KA24DE N/A. Auto Transmission.

Problem: Power loss at "WOT". Engine works very hard and gets loud but i don't feel the power.
NOTES
* If accelerated slowly the car runs smooth and seems to shift gears fine.
* Seems to idle fine once in a while but when it does act up, it only jumps from 750RPM - 500RPM twice then settles back to idle RPM which is 750RPM.
*Noticed poor gas mileage
*No Engine light signal

Things i have done already:
-New spark plugs
-Ignition wires good
-Rotor Cap looks fine
-Oil looks good
-Cleaned the MAF with a MAF cleaner
-Air Filter's fine
-New Fuel filter
-New oil filter
-Tires are good
-SEAFOAMED half bottle on INTAKE and other half on GAS Tank. Didn't see much improvement.
thats all i can think of right now

I took it in to NISSAN the other day and i had them check for any codes and they said they didn't find any codes. They think that my 'Timing" is a tooth off or something and for the age of the vehicle theres a possibility that it is out of timing. I havn't had the time to check the timing but i am trying other things first until i have the right time.

Do you guys think that Nissan could possibly be right? Any other input on this would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks

It is possible, but also could the stator not be locking up as well, or am I thinking sideways again?

do you have anyguages? something to moniter air fuel ratio, battery voltage or something? cause poor ignition timing or low battery voltage could cause hesitation, more likely your timing tho

What condition is the transmission in? Could be a worn out torque converter.

when ever I here about anyone running rich, I suggest checking sensor voltages, especially the maf. I'd suggest throttle, temp, and maf as they are easy/free to check. if those check good then look into the timing.
