Power locks with an alarm? 92 240sx

I wanted to add some protection to my car so I bought an alarm. I wanted the best alarm out there and it comes with push button door locks. Once the car was in the shop the guy comes back and says I am getting a discount becuase he can't put the remote door lock on it because Nissans of my year have a cable driven power lock versus a bar driven? Anyone have any ideas what he's talking about? I haven't pulled the doors off yet but was wondering if there is a way to convert from this cable to a bar? Thanks for any info?

hmm thats weird i have a 1990 240sx with an alarm and the electronic door opener thing... it should work...

I added power locks to my 89 and 93 and it used bar type locks. I don't know what that guy is talking about.

OK cool so I may need to go to another shop and see if they can do it? Thanks guys.

Ok I have "follow me locks"? Which means they have a cable and not the bar to open the doors. I have to find a shop that will fabricate the bar and then get ti mounted. the actuator for the doors goes mounted to the bar. It doesn't work with the cable because it can't push it. If that makes sense?

I found the power locks for the Nissan on ebay for dirt cheap and will see what i need to install this weekend. Thanks all
