my 240 doesn't come factory with power anything, so I was wondering if it would be that hard to install a kit.... has anyone done this? plus does it matter what brand?

I did it in mine,I used power lock actuators wired up to my alarm for the locks, and i did the power windows twice.First power windows i had were the motors that attach to the crank handle, then i tried a different approach and installing the whole regulator assembly from a power 240sx and the window switch for the rear windows on the vert.

The easiest way to do it is to go to a junkyard and find a 240 w/power windows, use a 12 volt or higher cordless drill battery and test the assembly and see if it goes up and down fine. My junkyard had 5 to choose from so i picked the ones with the fastest motors and took the whole assembly with the motors attached. To get them out you just loosen the 2 bolts on the top and the 2 one the bottom of the doors, don't forget to cut the harness for the motor with some slack to wire up,
