I just bought a 92' Maxima SE, a great car but with a power lock problem. When I use the key to get in it only unlocks the door I am unlocking (I assume a 2nd turn of the key should unlock all doors like on my Pathfinder) and when I hit the lock/unlock switch I hear a relay in the dash click but none of the door lock/unlock. I sprayed some lubricant in the locks and all pull knobs move free but still nothing. Any ideas on what may be wrong?

The lock timers on third gens are notorious for failing, which leads to all sorts of weird lock behavior. You're correct that a second turn should unlock all the doors.

Can you tell me where the lock timer is? I am guess it is what sounds like a relay under the dash?

Yeah it is...I know its under the driver side dash on the right side.

I saw a how-to somewhere....I'll have to see if I can dig it up...

My car does this periodically too...but for now it still unlocks when I turn the key twice!!

I got another lock timer from a junk yard (easy install) but the lock still don't function. I am not sure what to try next???
