About two weeks ago when I would turn the key in my 86 na automatic everything electrical on the at would work: radio display, dash cluster, etc and when the key was turned to start the car it would crank and crank for as long as you wanted it to (the car doesn't currently run), but now the vehicle will not do that anymore. When the key is turned to accessory eerything lights up as it should, however when the key is turned to start the battery gives a click as if it were dead, but only a single click as opposed to several as usual, and everything shuts off and wit come back until the negative terminal is removed and replaced each time. When the car is hooked to a jump everything functions. Thinking the battery was te problem I tested myself using a standard multimeter and it read 11.2, autozone confirms the battery is functional and charged with their tester. Visual check on wires and terminals shows no corrosion or evidence of critters in there.

Ideas?

11.2 isn't 12v. I should have some time one night this week or this weekend if you want I can probably find the time to come have a look and help figure out what the issue is.

Agreed. If the battery isn't AT LEAST 12V, the battery isn't good or charged. MOST of the car's electronics are designed to operate over a wide range of voltage (including down to 11V), but the starter requires a lot of juice.

Charge your battery. If it never gets or stays above 12V, then you need to replace it.
