I made a topic a while back about these idea's and if Control Units (CU's) could be modified in anyway. The answer to the first idea's of adding these features to the 1990-1993's Q45's was its not easy. The answer to the second question was that it would cost far too much money to reverse engineer the CU's on the Infiniti Q45 (1990-1993).
But if I want something done it gets done! I don't take no for an answer and don't rest till its finished.
I figured out how to add Power Folding/Heated/Pre-dimmed mirrors with puddle lights under them (Heyweir427 (Tom) came up with Puddle Lights first). I have the plans done for OEM (Alpine) Keyless entry from a J30 to a 1992-1993 Infiniti Q45, Just need to make the wiring harness and wire it up. But it works on paper! I have two Rear Shock Tower bars done.
So I am a pretty smart guy but what baffles me is how the Automatic Driver Positioner (ADP) CU works. What I want to do is be able to add power head rests and power lumbar support so that they work with the seat memory buttons.
Making the Power head rests work with the ADP is simple so that when you take the key out the head rest goes down, seat goes back and steering wheel comes up and side mirrors fold in. But I need to figure out how to work them into the OEM seat controls so it looks OEM as well.
Would a whole new CU need to be added to have the power headrests and lumbar support work with the memory buttons?
Nothing worth doing is easy and I am not the only one who wants this I bet. And I know what some would say "If you want 1994-1996 Infiniti Q45 features BUY ONE!" but I can barely maintain one so another would be insane.
