First time member.. I've got a 93 S13 vert that I am having some serious issues with. If anyone could be of any help it will be greatly appreciated. Well beginning of story. I left my healights on one day so... my battery dies. So I pull he batter out.. It was ancient anyway, So I was like hell, I'm gonna spray the engine compartment down.. bad mistake because the car wasn't running. so anyway I just bought a new battery put it in and...the problem starts; first off when I started the car it was making some wierd sounds kinda like chirping.. then it came to an idle and my power was acting screwy.. like everything in the interior wasn't working, so i revved up to about 3 grand and my power starts working in the car. So I go to drive off and I immediately noticed that my car was acting as if it had a fouled plug.. it was stuttering, no acceleration.. it was terrible, sounded and felt like it was gonna die on me.. So I check plugs and wires.. everything seemed ok.. But I was gonna just go replace the plugs thinking maybe one was just bad and I needed new ones anyway. Well now the seriousness of the problem kicks in. I get to the auto parts store and my car dies.. won't start.. won't kick over nada.. Immediately i think alternator.. so i buy a new alternator put it in... and recharge MY NEW battery.. and what happens.. absolutely nothing.. car runs for about another 30 mins while showing the same problems with power, acceleration.. and eventually battery dies.. Please if anyone knows what may be the problem. pls help me out. Today I bought new battery cables.. and Im lettig my battery charge overnight for the second time. Thanks

It sounds like more than one problem to me.check your TPS sensor,I m almost sure that's what the idling problem is. As far as the battery draining make sure your alternator is charging, just disconect the negative side of the battery while idling the engine should stay runnig,if it's not check your fuses and grounds.

yea...if u didn't let the engine and electrical stuff dry before turning it on again u might have a short at one of the ground...its gonna be a pain in the a$$ but it is a pretty straight forward solution...check everything!!!
